Terchova
Only a 15 minute drive from Chalupa Ria!
Terchova is perhaps most famous for being the birth place of Juraj Janosik, the Slovak Robin Hood. However, today, the small town is also renowned for being one of the region's most popular tourist resorts.
There is a Janosik Day every year in Terchová at the end of July, where folk groups from all over Europe come to perform. There is also an interesting Janosik exhibition in the town.
Terchová is ideally placed for hiking during the summer season and skiing and snowboarding during the winter season at the excellent Ski Centrum Vratna. Other interesting winter activities include Dog team racing and horse cart racing.
Please note that detailed directions to Terchova are included in the Tourist Information Pack available at
the Chalupa Ria.
