Dolny Kubin
Only a 20 minute drive from Chalupa Ria!
For a small town, Dolny Kubin certainly has a lot to offer. A beautiful town square boasts a museum, art gallery, many fine restaurants and a cinema.
Also in the town, there is an ice-skating rink, a swimming pool, Internet cafes, and two Ski-centers. There is also Dolny Kubin's famous attraction, the wooden bridge, which happens to be the longest bridge of its type in Central Europe.
P.O. Hviezdoslav Museum
For those of you that are interested in looking at what life was like a century ago, then this excellent little museum is well worth a visit and the 20Sk entrance fee.
It documents in minute detail the life and works of P.O. Hviezdoslav the world-renowned Slovak writer and poet and Dolny Kubin's most famous patron.
April to September:

Orava Art Gallery
Formerly the County House, the Baroque-style building that dominates the town square is today the home of the Orava art gallery.
The exhibitions on display include folk, modern and classic art, painted by people from Orava.
